Construction of Solar Euromed's Alba Nova 1 CSP plant kicks off

France's Concentrated Solar Power echnology group Solar Euromed has kicked-off construction of the first commercial CSP plant in France.

Alba Nova 1 -more details available at our csp world map https://www.csp-world.com/cspworldmap/alba-nova-1 - is a 12 MW linear Fresnel technology solar thermal power plant located in Corsica based on an innovative technology developed by Solar Euromed and its scientific partners. This is the first modern solar thermal power plant to obtain a building permit in France.

The plant will generte electricity to power 10,000 households. The EPC contract was awarded to Habtoor Leighton Specon.

Tha plant was awarded last July, 2012. French Minister Delphine Batho for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, announced the outcome of the national solar tender launched by the French Regulatory Commission of Energy for the implementation of solar power plants above 250 kW.

ALBA NOVA 1 won the national solar tender launched by the French Government, and was awarded a guaranteed tariff for its solar energy production during 20 years.
