NEP Solar is striving to make a difference in the emerging concentrating solar thermal energy sector.

We develop and manufacture solar thermal parabolic trough collectors and advise on system design and applications.

With offices in Australia and Europe we currently serve the Asia Pacific, European and Middle Eastern markets. As market opportunities arise we will expand our presence accordingly.

The Polytrough1800 is our recent development. It is derived from the Polytrough1200. The key dimensions are an aperture of 1845mm and a total mirror length of 20m. The development focussed on the following optimizations:

Reduction of production costs
The precision is already built-in, only the stands have to be aligned on the foundations. That means further installation can be done without demand for cost-intensive high-precision work. Also, a new tracking electronics reduces cabling needs to the central PLC
Lower maintenance costs. The drive chain has been replaced by a worm gear drive which does not need tension readjustment.

The Polytrough1800 comes to site in standard 20” or 40” shipping containers. The mirrors are produced in-house in our workshop in Warriewood, Australia where a new production street has been installed.
