The plant was first owned by Cobra and Solar Millenium.

On July 2009, Solar Millenium sold its stakes (25%) in Andasol 1 and 2 to Cobra.

On July 2011, Cobra sold 90% of stakes in Andasol 1 and Andasol 2 to RREEF and Antin.

Andasol 1 is Europe's first commercial parabolic trough plant.

The plant would use the EUROTrough solar collector assembly designed and developed under the 5th Framework Programme of the UE. The commercial version used in this plant is AS1, a slightly modified version of SKAL-ET 150.

The plant has two types of HCE, Schot PTR70 and Solel UVAC2008 (11,232 each).

One SENERTrough loop was installed in Andasol 1

General comments:

This plant represents a milestone in CSP history. It's Europe's first parabolic trough commercial plant and was the starting point alongside with the PS10 for a new age of CSP deployment.
