Chile to launch bidding process for CSP in the next weeks

Chile's Minister of Energy, Jorge Bunster, has announced a bidding process for Concentrated Solar Power facility will be launched within the next weeks.

The announcement has been made during an inauguration ceremony of a 1.4 MW solar PV plant, the first to be connected to the SIC (Central Interconnected System) grid.

The project will be funded by Chilean State as well as the Clean Technology Fund, Inter-American Development Bank, KfW and Canada Climate Fund. The estimated cost is about $400 million.
